Santa Di Cataldo received her Biomedical Engineering degree (summa cum laude) from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2006. In 2007 she joined the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) in Politecnico di Torino as a Research Assistant. She holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Computer Engineering from the same university since April 2011. She is currently Associate Professor in the EDA group.

Her main research interests are biomedical image processing and data mining, including techniques for pattern recognition, image segmentation, quantification and classification of image features for medical and biological applications. She has experience in the design and development of image analysis tools in several imaging modalities, including B-mode Ultrasound, high-resolution microscopy and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
